Does the PS3 have a higher scratch tolerance on DVD's??
I've been seeing some discussion lately on whether the PS3 has a higher scratch tolerance for playing DVD's than the XBOX360 or not? One blogger spoke of how discs that the XBOX would decline and give errors when trying to read, the PS3 would read just fine and play without any troubles. Another blogger pointed out that from his past experience with the PS1 and PS2 systems, in about 3 months or so the PS3 may not read these scratched DVD's quite as well.
Personally I am hoping that Sony has chosen to use a higher quality laser system to read the Next-Gen Blu-Ray discs it was designed for. But perhaps only time will tell. I would be interested in hearing if anyone out there has experienced ANY problems thus far in readying scratched or beaten up dvd's.
