Sony Still Promising 1 Million PS3's by End of Year
While Sony reportedly only sold 197,000 of it's PS3 console in the month of November (less than half of it's promised 400,000 units), they still promise to deliver 1 Million PS3's by the end of the year.
According to Dave Karraker, senior director of corporate communications at Sony, manufacturing problems have been solved and they will ship 1 million PS3's by the end of the year. Karraker also stated that their should be a steady stream of PS3's shipped to North America throughout the remainder of 2006.
With Sony's manufacturing issues, sales of their PS3's came in 3rd amongst the Next-gen consoles behind the Nintendo Wii and XBox360, but I would expect to see much better numbers for the PS3 in December. We shall wait and see.
