PS3 1.7 Firmware Update Released The latest Firmware (Version 1.7) was released last night for the PS3. Here are the changes it has made, shown after the download installs.

Updates:

- PSOne downloaded games are now playable on the PS3

- Saves from the PS3 can now be used on the PSP (I.E PSOne saves)

- Vibration support has been added to emulated PS1 and PS2 titles.
( All older titles now support vibration when you put the disc in your PlayStation 3)

UPDATE: It appears that you will still need a PSP to download PSOne titles at the moment. Hopefully Sony will fix this hiccup soon. ( You must have your PSP connected through USB mode to download titles still)

Update #2: Another small feature that our keen eyes have picked out is that the display of the date and time appears now below your downloads for games.

This seems like a pretty significant update, as you'll be able to download your favorite PS1 classics from the PS Store very soon.  ¶ 7:01 AM
