PS3 Firmware 1.5 Update is Here!
Sony quietly released it's next Firmware upgrade version 1.5 today. While it is for the most part a pretty minor update. There is one improvement that is many will be glad to see.
PS2 GAMES NO LONGER LOOK LIKE JAGGED PIXXELY CRAP ON THE PS3!
This is fantastic news, and let me be one of the first to say thank you Sony for listening to all of the PS3 owners out there and getting this fixed sooner rather than later. In some cases, it has already been reported that PS2 games may even look BETTER on the PS3. This is not really a surprise, considering the processing power of the PS3, and may give some added incentive for PS2 owners to upgrade.
The rest of the firmware updates are hardly even notable, but here is the official list:

MLB 2K7 Sneak Peak
A look at MLB 2K7 for the PS3. Looks like it will be pretty good to me.
3 Games Delayed to PS3
If you were looking forward to playing Motorstorm, Fatal Inertia or Bladestorm, then you are going to have to wait a little bit longer than you had hoped. All 3 titles have been pushed back to as late as this summer before they release.
The reason for Motorstorm being delayed is that the developers need more time to add online play capabilities for the US and UK versions. This is a good reason for the delay, as the Japanese version was released with no options to play online. So even though we are forced to wait for this anticipated title, at least we know it will be getting some well worth it improvements.
As for Fatal Intertia and Bladestorm, the developer has decided to give their designers more time to explore the full features and abilities of the PS3. So by delaying their release, gamers will be rewarded with fuller, more pleasing play experience.
The Angry German Kid Finds Out How Much a PS3 Costs
Oh it's our good friend the Angry German Kid back in another memorable video. This time he gets a wee bit excited over the new Sony PS3, but soon finds out the price he would have to pay to get one. I think we all know what happens next.
Some more PS3 numbers to munch on
According to the research firm NPD Group, Sony sold a total of 490,700 Playstation 3 consoles in the month of December. Combine this with NPD's estimates of 687,700 consoles sold in November, and that is nearly 1.2 million consoles sold since PS3's US launch date of Nov. 17th.
While this is not necessarily a bad number, Sony could have sold multiples more than this number if they could have provided a larger supply to retails. In my own personal opinion, Sony has really hurt themselves with a sub-par release of a top notch system. Not only did they not meet the demand, but their game lineup left a whole lot to be desired. Nearly two months later, there are still no impressive titles for the PS3.
Sony can only hope that people will not lose faith in the PS3 until they can get their act together and release some quality games that will show it's true power.

GameTrailers Game of the Year Award: 2006
Their were 5 nominees for the PS3 game of the year for 2006, aka, the entire line-up? Well pretty close anyways. I am pretty sure we all know who takes this one, but why not watch it anyways?
Scary Jewish Kid With a PS3
I don't know about you guys, but this kid kind of creeps me out a little bit. Sheesh, and I always thought that Jewish kids were so nice, now I'm a wee bit worried about them. He actually kind of reminds me of Smeagol from Lord of the Rings. "Preciousss, my preciousss."
Sony PS3 Blu-Ray Remote Officially Available
Sony has officially released the PS3 Blu-Ray remote control. Their has been a few surface at a Wal-Mart in Nevada Las Vegas, but they were not widely available until now. Why Sony decided to wait until now to release the Blu-Ray controller, is unclear. Many people thought that Sony should have packaged the remote with the 60 GB PS3 model, much like Microsoft did with the XBOX360. Instead, Sony chose to package Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
The remote will be retailing for $24.99, and will come with 2 Sony branded AA batteries. This remote will come as a welcome replacement to the PS3 remote, which was a bit of a clumsy substitute for a remote.
Sneak Peak at FEAR
Here is some of the gameplay from FEAR. I have a feeling this game will not be for the faint of heart, but a definite must have to people who like a little intensity in their gaming experience. I myself am looking forward to this release.
